News: Trash truck fire reported in Castle Rock

CASTLE ROCK, CO – A trash truck caught on fire at the East Wolfensberger Road and Wilcox Street intersection Thursday morning. 

Jayson Luber, a Denver 7 Traffic reporter, announced this incident at 6:37 a.m. and stated fire crews shut down both directions of Wilcox in order to mitigate the fire. During the closures, drivers were urged to take Perry Street, Founders, or Plum Creek Parkway as alternative routes. 

Local fire rescue crews did not confirm whether the fire resulted from a crash or mechanical issues. Law enforcement who were dispatched to the scene did not disclose the number of occupants involved and whether anyone was injured or hospitalized.
