DENVER, CO – A driver was taken into custody following a shooting that led to a police chase and crash in Aurora early this morning.
According to 9 News, an unidentified Aurora man tracked his stolen vehicle to Denver at about 5:15 a.m. and was shot as he attempted to retrieve the vehicle.
The suspect fled the scene in the stolen car. He was spotted by officers at approximately 6:30 a.m., prompting a brief pursuit that concluded with a crash at the intersection of East 6th Avenue and North Del Mar Circle.
The unidentified suspect was taken into custody at the scene. The charges they are facing are unclear at this time.
The victim who was shot managed to make it to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
