DENVER, CO – An ambulance transported a pedestrian to a hospital after they were hit by an automobile north of Wellshire Golf Course before 7 p.m. Saturday.

Denver Police said this collision happened at South Colorado Boulevard and East Amherst Avenue. They closed the southbound lanes of Colorado and westbound lanes of Amherst to accommodate the scene clearance and investigation process, which has since reopened.
First responders confirmed that the pedestrian was recovering from serious wounds. At this time, it is unclear what led up to this crash or if the driver will be cited or charged for their involvement in this collision.
