DENVER, CO – Major traffic delays were reported following crash and resulting diesel fuel spill on I-70 early Monday.
According to the Denver Post, the crash occurred along the northbound ramp from I-70 to Pena Boulevard at about 5:39 a.m.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are unclear at this time. However, officials confirmed two vehicles were involved in the crash.
Both drivers were hosptialized with serious injuries. No updates on their conditions are available at this time.
The collision resulted in a spill of diesel fuel, leading to the closure of the Peña Boulevard exit for several hours. The cleanup crew arrived at 8 a.m., and Peña Boulevard was back in operation by 8:54 a.m.
