WHEAT RIDGE, CO – A driver of a car turned left amid a yellow light and struck another vehicle, causing their car to overturn Friday.
Wheat Ridge Police reported this collision after 9 a.m., saying it occurred at the West 32nd Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard intersection.
Seatbelts save lives.
This crash at W 32nd Ave. and Wadsworth Blvd. Wednesday could have been a lot worse. As a driver was going up the hill heading southbound on Wadsworth, another driver in the opposite lane tried turning left to head west on W 32nd Ave. pic.twitter.com/9NC8LtiXBM
Officers said the passenger, a 5-year-old child, inside the overturned vehicle, did wear their seatbelt and confirmed the driver was “issued a summons for failing to yield.”
As it stands, police did not specify if anyone was injured, nor have they released additional information at this time.
