AURORA, CO – A truck driver was said to have been impaired when they crashed into an icy pond Sunday night, The Aurora Police Department said.
On Sunday night, APD and @CUAnschutz officers responded to a crash near Colfax and Quentin, where a truck submerged into a pond. The driver was able to escape before the truck sank and was later arrested for DUI.
This single-vehicle collision happened outside of the University of Colorado Hospital. Aurora Police and CU Anschutz Medical Campus first responders revealed the driver was able to escape from the submerged truck and was arrested for DUI.
South Metro Fire Rescue, Aurora firefighters, and Falck Rocky Mountain were able to get the truck out of the water Tuesday, and Western Towing was able to remove the vehicle from the crash site.
