GOLDEN, CO – A driver, who was said to have stolen a white Ford F250 pickup truck, was fleeing from police when they struck a police car, injuring the Golden police officer last Friday.
Prior to the officer getting struck and injured, officers attempted to use the PIT (Precision Immobilization Maneuver to try and stop the driver. During this attempt, the suspect hit many vehicles, including the patrol car.
An ambulance took the officer to a hospital (who was later released) for minor wounds.
The pursuit was terminated when the suspect’s driving became more reckless to the point of compromising travelers’ safety. As such, officers have not yet been able to apprehend the suspect.
The driver was last located in the vicinity of W 10th Avenue and N Perry Street, and their truck can be seen with moderate damage to the driver’s side and rear damage to the side panel.
