BOULDER, CO – Two train conductors suffered minor wounds after a double train collision that spilled fuel on the railroad tracks Thursday.
A report from The Denver Post indicated this crash occurred in the vicinity of Arapahoe Avenue and 48th Street between Pearl Parkway. Boulder police said the fuel that spilled was absorbed by one of the crashed train cars. One of the trains had also allegedly struck the power line, causing some power outages that left around 92 homes without power. The power has since been restored.
Police said they closed a portion of Pearl Parkway and Valmont Road near 48th Street and Arapahoe Avenue to accommodate the scene clearance and investigation process and lifted the area closure after 7 a.m.
