DENVER, CO – A semi-truck overturned into a northwest Denver neighborhood Friday afternoon, sending three people to the hospital, according to 9News.

The wreck took place near Interstate 70 and Clay Street, in the city’s Sunnyside area, at about 12:40 p.m.

Details remain limited, but Denver police say a semi-truck and an SUV were involved in the incident, which sent the semi crashing through a guardrail and wooden fence before it slammed into an electrical pole. Responding crews noted that the pole appeared to have saved the truck from traveling toward a house nearby.

Three people, including the truck driver, who had to be extricated from the wreckage, were transported to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately clear.
