BOULDER COUNTY, CO – A two-vehicle collision last Friday night, July 12, near north Longmont left two people hurt, according to Times-Call.
The incident occurred on a stretch of U.S. Route 287 just south of Vermillion Road, prompting a response from the Colorado State Patrol at about 9:40 p.m.
Officials say a 39-year-old man from Boulder was driving a Honda Accord southbound on the highway when, for reasons unclear, he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to collide with a northbound Subaru Outback.
First responders rushed the driver of the Subaru, a 65-year-old woman from Greeley, and her passenger, a 40-year-old woman from Loveland, to an area hospital for moderate and serious injuries, respectively.
The driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital.
An investigation remains underway, but alcohol appears to have been a factor in the accident.
