DENVER, CO – One person was injured as a result of a hit-and-run crash involving four vehicles Thursday afternoon in north Denver, according to KDVR.
The accident happened on the southbound lanes of Interstate 25 at milepost 215.5 and was first reported at around 11:00 a.m.
A preliminary investigation by the Colorado State Patrol indicates that at least four vehicles were involved: a Subaru Legacy, a Mazda C50, a Toyota Rav4, and a unspecified white pickup truck with green lettering.
Officials said the pickup truck appeared to have hit the back of the Subaru, which caused it to overturn and hit the Mazda and then the Toyota.
First responders transported one person in the Mazda to a local hospital, but no other information about the patient’s condition has been shared.
Multiple lanes were blocked following the crash, causing long backups, but the roadway was reported reopened at around 12:00 p.m.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident and search for the pickup truck driver, who fled the scene.
