FRASER, CO – Authorities responded to a fatal collision Thursday, December 26, in Fraser involving a semitrailer, according to Sky-Hi News.
The accident took place on a stretch of U.S. Highway 40 near Kings Crossing and Old Victory Road, at about 9:25 a.m.
A news release from the Fraser Winter Park Police Department confirmed one person died as a result of the crash.
Four other people were rushed to Middle Park Medical Center in Granby and Denver Health East Grand Community Clinic in Winter Park for major injuries. The release also shows that one other patient was set to be taken to a hospital in the Denver area.
The circumstances behind the wreck remain under investigation, but a section of the highway was blocked during the response, forcing motorists to detour onto Old Victory Road. By 1:37 p.m., all travel lanes were reopened to traffic.
