THORNTON, CO – A man who was walking west of Walton Heath Park died after he was hit by the driver of a gray car, who then fled the scene Sunday.
Thornton Police said this collision happened in the 2500 block of westbound East 120th Avenue, indicating they arrived at the scene around 6 a.m. Once on-site, they declared the male pedestrian dead at the scene. The victim’s name will not be released by the Adams County Coroner’s Office until his family is notified of his passing.
Police shut down the intersection for several hours to conduct their investigation and to accommodate the scene clearance process. While they confirmed the color of the suspect’s vehicle, they have not provided a description of the suspect or their vehicle model.
Authorities advise the public to please come forward if they have any information surrounding Sunday’s fatal collision.
