News UPDATE: Adams Co. officials ID 2 killed in Broomfield crash

BROOMFIELD, CO – The Adams County Coroner’s Office has identified the two people who lost their lives in a multi-vehicle collision along Broomfield High School Tuesday. 

Authorities confirmed that it was 47-year-old Melissa Powell and her 16-year-old son, a Broomfield High School student, who passed away, according to KDVR

To recap, this crash happened before 3 p.m. on Main Street. One other person involved suffered life-threatening wounds and is recovering in a hospital. 

The events leading up to this collision remain under investigation. Our newsroom has declined to mention the name of Powell’s son in this article due to his status as a minor.
