News: Pedestrian hospitalized after crash near Vanderbilt Park

DENVER, CO – A pedestrian was transported to an area hospital after they were struck by a vehicle south of Vanderbilt Park on Saturday. 

Denver Police first recorded this incident at 6:36 p.m. and said it happened at the West Mississippi Avenue & South Platte River Drive junction along South Platte River. Following the crash, they shut down the eastbound directions and advised drivers in the area to pursue alternative routes. 

Police said the pedestrian is recovering from serious wounds. Currently, It is not immediately clear as to what led the driver to hit the pedestrian. However, officials did confirm that the motorist remained at the scene and have not indicated pending charges at this time.
