LARIMER CO., CO – A crash in southwest Fort Collins early Saturday claimed the life of a driver, according to KDVR.
Police say the incident occurred at about 12:40 a.m. when a Mini Cooper slammed into a utility pole near the intersection of South Lemay Avenue and East Harmony Road. The impact caused a fire to ignite inside the vehicle with the driver still inside.
Despite attempt by witnesses to rescue the driver, the unidentified victim died at the scene.
