DENVER, CO – All eastbound lanes of I-70 in Jefferson County were shut down following a crash involving six vehicles during Thursday’s evening rush hour.
The crash took place at about 6:42 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the interstate near the US-6 interchange, just outside of Golden.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes. The closure led to extensive traffic backups, causing frustration among commuters caught in the evening rush.
It is still unclear whether anyone sustained injuries as a result of the incident.
All eastbound lanes reopened shortly after 8 p.m.
