DENVER, CO – The woman believed to be responsible for a fatal wrong-way crash on I-25 in west Denver on Saturday morning.
According to CBS Colorado, 23-year-old Morgan Hefley, was the driver of a vehicle traveling south in the northbound lanes of I-25 near Colfax Avenue when it slammed head-on into another.
Hefley and her passenger were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle that was struck, Lorenzo Antonio Escobedo Acosta, tragically died at the scene.
Hefley was taken into custody upon release from the hospital. It is unclear at this time what charges she is facing.
