We usually avoid seeking out medical malpractice clients because (1) we value our ability to work closely with our clients’ health care providers on non-malpractice cases, and (2) we understand the serious consequences even an unwarranted malpractice claim can have for a physician. We usually work with our clients’ doctors to defend reasonable care after a client is injured by someone else, and then we work to make sure our injured clients can pay for that care.
But from time to time, one of the physicians we know professionally will see a new patient who has already been injured by another provider’s malpractice. In these cases, the physicians we know may want to defend good, safe care by ensuring that negligent providers take responsibility for their actions.
